Palm Springs Recap

IMG_7229

Hi everyone,

Here is a quick recap on our week in Palm Springs, California. Curtis and I usually go down at least once to twice a year. The slow pace and hot weather calls to us and it’s always a relaxing time filled with good eats and shopping. This time, we opted to stay at a hotel for a night instead of spending the entire time at our family’s house. The Saguaro Hotel was where we ended up staying, and immensely enjoyed it. During our trips we like to take a day trip somewhere and this time we chose to revisit San Diego and La Jolla.

Below are a few photos from our vacation; I will be posting guides to Palm Springs this week and another couple of recaps on our trip to La Jolla and our stay at The Saguaro.

We stumbled onto the Tonga Hut on the strip, it was such a cool little tiki room. They nailed the decor, and the drinks were delicious!

We had lunch at In & Out Burger (this is a must when visiting Southern California).

Took a day trip to the Salton Sea and the Salvation Mountain. The sea used to be a popular resort area until the 1960s when the salinity levels rose to dangerous. It was an accidental sea that was created due to when the Colorado River spilt into the valley in the early 1900s. The towns are deserted for the most part and you can drive around and see the abandoned buildings and resort locations.

Curtis and I stayed at The Saguaro for a night, this was such a fun hotel. The colours are vibrant and really reflect the city it is located in. The pool was awesome, the DJ played actual good tunes, the hotel restaurant El Jefe had a great menu and I recommend taking advantage of the free bike rentals.

On Tuesday, we took an overnight trip to La Jolla, San Diego.

These are just a few highlight of the week. Please stop by again this week to see the other posts on Palm Springs.

Enjoy! xo

I don’t like In N Out. I know, I know I’m a traitor to SoCal, but I can’t change my taste buds (but they can change the food). I’m vegetarian so options are terribly limited & I don’t like their fries. :] // itsCarmen.com ☼ ☯

    1. hey no worries! we each have our own tastes, where do you like to eat in socal?
