Festive, terribly beautiful, and flavorful- these Blood Orange Ginger Cranberry Mojitos are a wonderful addition to your cocktail hour. The flavors of orange, cranberry, and ginger are laced with mint and lime, and they all come together in an amazing combination of flavors that is distinctly holiday and not too sweet. Also can be easily made into a great mocktail. You can also try my Holly Jolly Christmas Cocktail! A festive twist on a mojito with cozy cranberry and ginger notes! If you make the simple syrup ahead of time and keep in the fridge, this makes the mojitos easy […]

This Jolly Old Fashioned is a perfect, cozy cocktail to settle into holiday evenings at home. Homemade cardamom-infused maple syrup, mixed with bourbon, lemon and orange juices, and bitters. You can also check out my other festive cocktails like the Merry Mistletoe Margarita. You can make it extra fancy with a spicy sweet rim and sugared cranberries on top. Yes, it’s not a traditional old-fashioned. This is a Jolly Christmas old-fashioned cocktail, so it is special to serve up. Lastly, if you make this Jolly Old Fashioned, be sure to leave a comment!
Check out this herbal rosemary simple syrup, that is perfect in both cocktails and mocktails! In the course of making cocktails, we try to make a lot of our own ingredients from scratch. One of our favorites to make is simple syrup. A Classic Simple Syrup can be an integral part of a cocktail, by adding sweetness and flavor to make the drink just right. We have made a lot of simple syrups out of herbs, fruit, and other sugars. To me, homemade simple syrup just tastes better, is less artificial, and is so easy to make! Simple syrups can […]

You know this type of cocktail, the one you drink wrapping gifts or after an indulgent dinner like an aperitif. This is a real Christmas cracker of a drinks recipe. Ludicrously easy, quick, and completely delicious. For anyone who needs a good boozy cocktail to make it through the hustle and bustle, or to make it through another round of listening to a cartoon holiday special, I suggest seeking the assistance of Santa’s Little Helper — a delicious wintertime cocktail. It’s just a classic, easy to drink, and looks festive in a stylish coupe glass. The white Christmas recipe is a nice alternative to mix up for guests who are not extremely fond of eggnog.
When it comes to your home bar the options are literally endless. Every time the words endless and booze are used in the same sentence things can get expensive really fast. Here is how we stock our bar cart and the steps we took to build it out. My best advice when it comes to your home bar is to take your time building out your cocktail station and figure out the purpose you want it to serve. Who does it serve? Is it going to be a statement piece? Is it a place to store all your alcohol? Curtis […]

Want to switch up your usual holiday cocktail this year? Try this coconut and lime-flavoured margarita on for size! It’s not often that tequila features in holiday cocktails. But this one is absolutely stellar! Who doesn’t love a good margarita? (No one.) This classic cocktail is one of the most iconic in the world: it was invented in the 1930s and is even more popular today. I’ve made this cocktail in anticipation of our holiday trip to Palm Springs where I’ll be sipping it poolside. You can also serve this festive cocktail pitcher style for friends and family this Christmas.
Something about fall and the cooler months makes me really into cocktails. Spring and summer, I like to keep it simple, but all of the flavour options for fall get me inspired to actually mix something up, beyond a simple pour. With Halloween coming up, I thought a spooky-themed cocktail would be fun to drink while watching a scary movie! Simply shake, pour, and enjoy with your favourite movie, maybe Hocus Pocus? Read on for the recipe and instructions – I doubled this easily to make two drinks, but you can scale up the proportions however you need to. […]

Do you enjoy a classic old fashioned? Well here is a winter version! The addition of the rosemary and maple brown sugar simple syrup, adds a cozy vibe to the classic. A smooth, velvety taste to each sip, the rosemary adds that earthy tone to the classic cocktail. This is enjoyed by itself, but preferably with friends or family nearby a fireplace! Or after a hearty dinner, which is how we drank it the other evening, was a perfect nightcap. Want to also note that we used dark brown sugar instead of regular white sugar because it has molasses.
Keeping things festive and cheerful with The Naughty but Spicy Cocktail. Using homemade honey-ginger simple syrup infused with spicy jalapeños, mixed with tequila, smoky (or not) mezcal, lemon, and pomegranate or cranberry juice. Then you top it off with sparkling water! It’s a touch of sweet and a little bit spicy. And don’t skip that salty, spicy-sweet, chili sugar-rimmed glass for the perfect Christmas drink, it really just rounds out the whole experience. If you know me, it’s not a secret that I love a good Christmas cocktail! Curtis and I enjoy going to hotel bars or sampling from restaurants’ […]
