During my 24th week, we went on our Palm Springs babymoon! Went back to the city we were married in, stayed at the hotel we married at and just enjoyed a week of relaxing in the sun. We’re always amazed at how a handful of days away from home and work can feel so inspiring and refreshing. The location couldn’t be beaten; the Avalon Hotel Palm Springs is one block off of the main drag, with that gorgeous mountain backdrop behind it. The quiet, adult only pool was our best friend in the afternoons (along with a cold beer or […]

As some of you may know by now, Palm Springs is one of my favourite places to spend time in. Curtis and I love going down to spend a weekend in Palm Springs and taking in the desert air, relaxing by the pool and drinking our share of tiki cocktails. We’ve been doing this for about 9 years now.

It’s such a great place to spend a week, but you can do so much even in a weekend. I’m going to share some highlights you must do if you visit Palm Springs on a long weekend. It’s seriously one of […]

Here we are, nearing the end of our Palm Springs wedding series. The reception! The part of the night where we all have fun, eating, drinking, dancing and chatting away. We entered the space after cocktail hour to our guests and the song “I found you” by Alabama Shakes. I loved that we were able to do everything outdoors! From our ceremony to the reception, and not have to worry about weather or bugs. Noone needed to wear a sweater or coat, and no mosquito spray was required. It was perfect~! If you can, or looking for a fun destination […]

Here’s part three of our Palm Springs wedding! This is just sharing our photoshoot photos after our cocktail hour. The light was so pretty, we walked around behind the hotel. I wanted more of an urban, casual feeling of photos instead of staged around the hotel or try to go across the city into the desert. Nope, wasn’t going to happen! Instead, we wanted to stay close, walk with a drink in hand and enjoy it. No pressure at all. Plus Sarah is so easy to work with, she just walked with us, maybe gave a little direction and just […]

Our Palm Springs wedding day started off with Curtis and I waking up together and grabbing breakfast by the pool. We’re not traditional in that sense of spending the night away and it was nice to relax that morning together. I even went for a dip in the pool! Leading up, some people kept asking if we were nervous. I didn’t feel nervous at all about the wedding. Curtis and I have been together for 9 years and met in high school. I knew he was going to show up (haha!) and that we should just really enjoy the day […]

It’s been almost 7 months since Curtis and I tied the knot at our Palm Springs wedding! I cannot believe that much time has passed. It was such an amazing wedding week plus the special day was well special! I’m going to break these posts into three, just because narrowing photos down from our Palm Springs wedding has been nearly impossible! We arrived the Friday before our wedding.
Well before I share a new in depth Palm Springs guide, I wanted to share a quick one with you. Just a few snapshots (ok maybe more than just a few!) of our trip in August. New places to eat, a quick jaunt to Joshua Tree for lunch, the latest hotel to open and more. We tried out Sparrow’s Lodge The Barn Kitchen for lunch one afternoon. It was a scorcher outside, so the air conditioning inside was a nice relief. The food was fresh and delicious, I had a fantastic pina colada. We actually ended up talking to a […]

As you may know, I love Palm Springs! Curtis and I go at least once a year, we go to relax and escape in the desert. Palm trees, sunshine, afternoons in the pool, what more could you ask for?
This is a little overdue, we went down to Palm Springs at the beginning of April. We went down with my parents to look at wedding venues and enjoy the sunshine. Well we didn’t get much sunshine but did decide on a venue! Here is a quick Palm Springs recap in photos, you can also see my other guide here. We took pictures of bougainvillea, checked out wedding venues, vintage shopping, ate in the sunshine, visited the botanical garden and checked out new hotels.

Curtis and I spend at least one week in Palm Springs every year, sometimes if we are lucky more than that. It is one of our favourite places to visit, the vibe is laid back, more and more great restaurants are opening and fantastic shopping! There is quite a lot to do and see around Palm Springs and great day trips too, but I will max out your 72 hours in Palm Springs. Lots of history is in Palm Springs with the Rat Pack to film making, and great architecture. It’s a dreamy combo of mid-century meets Moroccan meets Spanish […]

We visited Palm Springs in August and I wish I was back there in the sunshine sipping pina coladas poolside. We had a great week down there, with friends joining us for a few days (too short!). Many pools were visited, numerous drinks were had, ate great food and relaxed! We stayed at The Parker for a night, swam and drank at the Ace Hotel, visited Joshua Tree National Park and ate a ton of great food! I’m sharing a few photos of our trip and will update the Palm Springs Guides adding a few new places to eat, shop […]

Palm Springs has many attractions and unique things to do and see. Each time we visit, we always find a new place to visit or see. Most are located centrally, but a few include a nice drive for a bit to reach them. I’ve listed my favourite spots below. Palm Springs Aerial Tramway I admit, we have not done this due to my fear of heights, but have promised Curtis we will on our next visit. It might entail having my eyes shut the whole time, breathing into a paper bag though. It is the World’s Largest Rotating Tramcar that takes you up the […]

Palm Springs has accommodations for every budget. Starting with high-end resorts, boutique hotels, motels, inns, and mid-century rentals there is plenty to choose from. If you are visiting alone or with another person, go the hotel route. But if you are visiting with a group, go and rent a house. Your able to relax and host BBQs, possibly stay in houses that Frank Sinatra and other celebrities owned, how can you pass that up? I have a few that I love and recommend from personal stays to word of mouth. Resorts Riviera Resort and Spa in Palm Springs A premiere destination with 24 […]
