Life Lately – May 2021

Life Lately - May 2021

Well hello! It’s been a busy month, or so it just feels like it was busy. Between Easter, Rowan’s birthday, our wedding anniversary, my birthday, and Mother’s Day, the weeks flew by! Plus with the nice summer weather we’ve been experiencing, I find ourselves spending a lot of time outside exploring the city. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram, I share daily stories and fun reels!

This week we were notified they will start sending messages to people above the age of 35 to get their vaccine in Vancouver. Hallelujah! I feel we are just on our way back to some normalcy. To be honest, I just want to leave our area, know I can cross the border to go to Target and Trader Joe’s and see my friends in more normal settings. Oh and if I find myself on a plane to Palm Springs to lay in the sunshine, I won’t be mad. I booked my vaccination for the end of this month, very excited to be on my way to be vaccinated!

Luckily Rowan and I are able to go to a music class once a week, it’s amazing for her to socialize and also an excuse to get out of the house. I feel thankful I can go to the gym and work out and that we have the seawall and Stanley Park just five minutes away from our apartment. These are small luxuries I am grateful for to break up my days and keep my mental health a little brighter.

Rowan and I have gotten into a better routine now that she has pretty much dropped her second nap. Not going to lie though, I miss that second nap and the freedom I get for two hours. It means I have less time during the day to get any work done, I end up only having my evenings which is hard when I am exhausted. She’s a busy bee, just always on her feet, playing, exploring, climbing furniture, and that first nap is when I get ready for the day and check emails. I’m hoping I’m able to wake up before her and do that instead, she just needs to sleep into a time more consistently haha.

But I’m looking forward to the summer, Curtis and I normally don’t go anywhere since summer is when Vancouver shines in my opinion. We plan on walking the park, spending time at the local beaches, swimming at the outdoor pools (I did get Rowan into swimming lessons too yay!), happy hours on a patio, and seeing our friends outside. We also got Rowan a bike seat and helmet so I cannot wait to get on our bikes in the next couple of weeks. Will be easier to explore the other side of the city with her.

Stay tuned for more posts in the coming weeks! I have a lot of content to catch up on including toddler toys, beauty, summer recipes and more!
