Art Crush

Hi everyone,

I love the fine arts and being inspired by new artists in all sorts of mediums. Below I’m sharing a few that have been on my radar lately. Enjoy!

1. Jim Darling, his scenes out of an airplane window are thought provoking. I envision scenes and flashback to when I’ve looked out at windows at new cities. The wonder and excitement of arriving and the fun to come.

2. Harding Meyer, an artist in Berlin whose work is artistic renderings of the human face in large scale oils.  They are faces from multiple origins in multimedia. I could study these for long lengths of time, looking in the layers and complexities of the pieces.

3. Niamh Barry, from the UK, creates light sculptures out of bronze that are functional. These amazing sculptures could be great centre pieces of any room. Sigh, I can only dream.

4. David Pirrie, a local BC artist whose work showcases the landscape of our unique province.

5. Abigail Brown, a textile artist from the UK. I love these, mostly because they are really adorable. Plus look at this owl, who wouldn’t want that in their home?

I’ve hoped that you all are feeling inspired and love these artist like I do. xo

How is the art-scene in BC? Thriving?

    1. It’s good, I would say thriving at it’s best for Vancouver 🙂

Yippee! I will have to investigate galleries and dealers. Do you have any tips?
