Behind the U Beauty Brand

The brainchild of U Beauty is Tina Craig (the skincare-obsessed blogger of Bag Snob). Tina began U Beauty because she was inspired to create beauty products that improved her skincare. The goal was to create products that would eliminate many skincare routine steps.

U Beauty launched in 2019 with a single product, the Resurfacing Compound. And within 24 hours of a pre-sale, it sold out!

Since then, they have expanded their skincare products to include The SUPER Hydrator and many other products that have quickly become big sellers.

Besides the skincare and body care products, one of my favourites is The PLASMA Lip Compound. At least to say, I’m obsessed with this product and they now have a variety of colours! It is thick and plumping and provides locked-in hydration without stickiness!

The hero ingredient

Exclusive to U Beauty, the SIREN Capsules feature patent-pending molecules that allow the product’s formula to deliver critical active ingredients—retinol, vitamin C, and hyaluronic acid—only where the skin needs it most. Instead of releasing these potent actives over the entire skin surface, the SIRENs strategically seek out only the damaged skin cells while at the same time avoiding impact on the healthy skin.

This minimizes the risk of irritation that one might experience using a harsh active ingredient and reduces the overall number of products in your skincare routine by combining multiple actives into one effective formula.

Now onto my favourite products…

Let’s get into my favourite products! As mentioned above, the Resurfacing Compound and Lip Plasma are probably my two favorites. But again… everything I have tried from the brand is fabulous.

U Beauty Resurfacing Compound

This is a wonderful product with so many complexion-boosting ingredients. If you use it at night, your skin will feel noticeably smoother and softer, and if used in the morning, you will see a pretty immediate glow.

This formula contains antioxidants, stabilized Vitamin C, stabilized Vitamin E, stable retinol, and multi-hydroxy acids. I like that this simplifies my skincare routine – you don’t need a separate Vitamin C, retinol, alpha hydroxy acids, or other serums… you can just use this. Truly, a skincare superhero!

The Super Hydrator

This is an incredible moisturizer. It is fantastic for dry skin types. I love that I can apply it before bed and wake up with dewy, super-hydrated skin.

The Super Intensive Face Oil

Formulated to fight chronically dry and seasonally dehydrated skin, the face oil acts as a moisture shield with ingredients like hyaluronic acid and fatty acids for healthy hydration that lasts for hours. It soothes and softens signs of aging too. A little goes a long way with this product — I find one pump does the trick. I wake up with hydrated, glowy skin, it’s a product that has become a staple in my routine.

The Plasma Lip Compound

I could not love U Beauty’s The Plasma Lip Compound more. It started with the original. Nothing is better. It’s soft, cushiony, and deeply hydrating. It also plumps the lips– just enough.

I was elated when they launched it in a variety of tinted colors, one is always in my bag!

U Beauty Body Products

Just like with the face products, you apply the Resurfacing Body Compound first. This does all the same things as the face product from tightening to smoothing. I let it completely dry and then I apply the Super Body Hydrator.

With all of that being said, there is one major hurdle — the price tag. Yes, these are expensive body care products. I tend to save mine for special occasions.

Clean ingredients

U Beauty uses only clean ingredients. I love this piece on their blog breaking down their standards for ingredients. Easy to digest for anyone.

Clinically Tested

The brand’s products are all clinically tested, in labs, on human skin.

Leaping Bunny Certified

U Beauty’s products are all Leaping Bunny certified. You can learn more about the Leaping Bunny program here. To be certified, companies must never start with or end animal testing at all stages of product development in addition to recommitting to the program annually and being open to third-party audits.

Sustainable

U Beauty has a zero-waste goal and constantly working to improve their sustainability practices and conserve resources. All ingredients are ethically harvested and fully traceable. All raw materials and packaging pass the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety toxicological analysis and are quality-checked and tested for safety.

All packaging uses FSC-certified paper, the “gold standard” designation for responsibly managed wood materials. Their packaging supplier meets the certified Global Recycled Standard. U Beauty’s outer packaging is 100% recyclable and their bottles and jars are made from 92.5% post-consumer recycled plastic.

Furthermore, their manufacturing facilities use 100% green energy and they have a partnership with One Tree Planted, a non-profit dedicated to reforestation. For every U Beauty product you buy, they plant one tree.

Do I Recommend U Beauty?

Yes. I recommend U Beauty! As I mentioned above, my favourite products are the resurfacing compound, super intensive face oil, and the lip plasma but they are all excellent skincare products.

I always caveat that I can only speak to my skin type and what works for me but I have become a devoted fan.
