Weekend Recap

Hi everyone!

coming home thursday night

coming home thursday night

We only got back Thursday night from our vacation, and thus decided this weekend was a lazy one. Friday consisted of running errands and grabbing much needed groceries. Since it was a Friday and we felt like kind of going out, we stopped at Granville Island for a few groceries. We picked up some great produce and poultry from Jackson’s Meats. Afterwards we  picked up my mom’s dog Rudy, who was to be our houseguest for the weekend. He’s 15 and is considered the family dog, but is such a mommy’s boy. The rest of Friday night was catching up on TV shows and life.

Saturday started off with a leisurely early walk with the dogs and then we enjoyed breakfast at home. Afterwards we headed into Gastown with the dogs and stopped by Parliament Interiors to check out the O.W.L. Rehabilitation Centre booth at their store that day. Proceeds from any owl themed decor item was to go towards this great centre and you were able to meet a couple of their long term residents.

We strolled the streets of Gastown (slowly with these two seniors), and stopped to get coffee from Coffeebar. I love their Almond Carob Bar, really delicious and healthy.

Made a quick stop at JCrew, I had a gift card and it was their 25% off regular price weekend. In the end I bought this Stadium Cloth Cocoon Coat in Sandstone. It’s amazing and I’m really excited to wear it this fall and winter!

We then took the dogs over to Sunset Beach and let them wander for a bit before heading home.

I made a roasted potato and vegetable soup with crunchy kale on top for dinner that night.

Curtis informed me that we needed to start watching the BBC Sherlock Holmes series with Benedict Cumberbatch and we did and still am watching all the seasons. It’s addicting and pretty funny.

Sunday we were up early again with the dogs and had a lazy morning. Eventually dropped them off at my mom’s and tried brunch at the new Chambar location. I will be doing a post on Tuesday about this restaurant, we had a great experience there.
