5 Best Tips for Gorgeous Brows

5 tips for gorgeous eyebrows

eyebrows1You may have an arsenal of brow pencils and powders and a Pinterest board devoted to the arches of Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid. But I feel that anyone could use a extra few tips to get gorgeous brows. There are so many different tools like gels, waxes and powders, which naturally that means there’s a lot of technique and know-how required to get your brows to do exactly what you want them to.

Ultimately you want that bold, yet natural-looking arch of your dreams. Threading, waxing and tweezing are still necessary to maintain, I usually get mine threaded every two-three weeks. But don’t overpluck! A few stray hairs are not noticeable to anyone else except to you. Step away from those mirrors and follow these easy tips to your most gorgeous brows below.

Here are the 5 Best Tips for Gorgeous Brows

1. Try a growth serum

Yes, they do work. There are products that can speed up the hair-growth process if you have sparse eyebrows from over tweezing as a teen or just want even fuller brows. Using a growth serum every day while your brows grow will help them come in fuller and faster. You can maintain the growth by using it two or three times a week, but that’s not even really necessary. Simply apply the product wherever you want the hair to grow, whether you have patches, an ultra-skinny tail or just want more overall fullness. The key is to use the serum diligently for two months to see results.

2. Use a highlighting pencil

Since the key to fuller brows is actually growing more hairs, you’ll need a product that covers the new hair growth until it blends in with your actual arches. This would be a highlighting pencil. Find one in a matte formula that has the undertones of your natural skin color and add it to your routine.

Yellow undertones = yellow pencil
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Duality comes in three shades and not only covers new hair growth, but works to help define your arch, too. To apply, draw a line under your brow, following the shape of the arch that you are hoping to achieve, and use your finger to gently blend from inner corner to outer.

3. Figure out your eyebrow colours

People with darker hair should make their brows one to two shades lighter than their hair color and those with lighter locks should aim for brows that are a shade or two darker.

4. Pencil vs. Powder

Use one or both! Rule of thumb, powders will give you a softer effect. For those looking for serious arch help, opt for a pencil instead.

When choosing a pencil, find one that isn’t too soft, but definitely isn’t dragging because it’s so hard. You want it to be malleable enough to blend, but strong enough to stay in place. For powders, get dual colors so that you can mix them into the correct shade. Try Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo, which comes in 11 shades or the Guerlain Brow Kit which is also easier for travel.

5. Use a brow gel

To really get into those sparse areas and coat every single brow hair, apply the gel from brow tail to front in a backwards motion. Then from the front to tail in an upwards motion. This coats the back of every follicle, giving your brows more volume and definition. Then, brush your brows up from inner corner to the tip. I also wipe the brush with a tissue first to remove excess product. I do this to avoid getting any product on my skin.

I’ve never hear of a brow growth serum. I’d be interested in trying something like that!

I had no idea grow serum existed for eyebrows! I have really light eyebrows, I think I need to give that a try
